Image of 28' Nap Lisee designed, Gar Wood Boat Company built hydroplane MISS AMERICA VII (built 1928 in Algonac, MI) leading 26' Nap Lisee designed, Gar Wood Boat Company built hydroplane MISS AMERICA V (built 1926 in Algonac, MI) at the Harmsworth Trophy Race, at the Detroit Regatta. Visible in image: port beam view of the hydroplanes MISS AMERICA V (foreground) and MISS AMERICA VII (back) with American flags flying from their sterns while underway at start of race, under high speed, spraying behind, spectator vessels seen in background as well as Detroit city horizon.
