Illustration depicts the cutters GALATEA and MAYFLOWER under sail during the first race of the America's Cup Races, September 7, 1886. Port bow view of both vessels, with the spectator fleet illustrated in the background. Handwritten in ink on back: "Galatea + Mayflower, first race, Sept. 7, 1886".
