View of the John Hacker designed, Lester Staudacher built speedboat MY SWEETIE (built in Kawkawlin, MI 1948), seen undertow along docks. Visible in image: starboard quarter view of "MY SWEETIE U3" undertow with man in cockpit and one on bow, going past boat garages with "KAR-NUT III / FERNDALE, MICH" and "BEE-JAY / GROSSE POINTE" and other unidentified boats that fly American Yacht Ensigns. MY SWEETIE was a 2-step hydroplane. Sometime after the Harmsworth in July 1949, she was sold to Horace Dodge, as he was listed as the owner when she won the National Sweepstakes, September 1949. She was also the winner of Silver Cup Regatta, the O.J. Mulford Silver Cup, September 1949, and won the President's Cup that same year. Stamped on original negative sleeve: "123749F / JUL 2 1949 / GOLD CUP / DETROIT / 1949 / [Box] 5061". Handwritten on sleeve: "My Sweetie / U3 / at dock".
