Description: 5 x 7 glass plate negative taken by Morris Rosenfeld in 1916. Port view of the steamship VATERLAND being escorted by three tugboats, including the Hamburg-American Line Tug #3. VATERLAND was built for the Hamburg - American Line by Blohm & Voss in Hamburg, Germany 1914. She was reconditioned in the US in 1923 and scrapped in 1938. US troops re-named her LEVIATHAN. Handwritten on original negative sleeve: "Vaterland / Box 24".
