Vessel was laid down December 20, 1941 by the Consolidated Shipbuilding Co., Bronx, NY. It was launched March 17, 1942 and commissioned USS PC-563. Stamped on back in blue oval: "MORRIS ROSENFELD / PHOTOGRAPHIC ILLUSTRATOR / 116 NASSAU ST.N.Y. / Phone Beekman 3-4970".
